Celebrating fatherhood with official paternity leave policies challenges traditional gender roles and empowers parents in the workplace. It’s one of those rare issues where men’s rights activists and feminists can find common ground with a mutually beneficial cause. It even has an impact on LGBTQ equality.

The Art of Remo Lienhard
Swiss artist Remo Lienhard (aka Wes21) uses a playful mix of science fiction and the natural world to cover the sides of buildings as well as canvases. From strange hybrid spaceship ladybirds to transformer bumblebees, his work has a futuristic and technological element at times. His fascination with the natural world leads him to juxtapose the beauty of animals with surrealism. Often his depictions are humorous such as a sloth switching off a streetlamp and grizzly bears going on a camping trip.

Floating in Nature
The Sansheng Exhibition Center by
is located in the South bank of Fuzhou‘s river Min, with a unique view over the water up to the city‘s new CBD skyline. The design combines characteristic elements of the Chinese courtyard house with aesthetic and dynamic qualities of Min River‘s waters: Built literally atop a large water surface, the building seems to be orbiting on two levels around a central water fountain, constituting a double storeyed courtyard. The visitor enters the building using a processional path over the water, and follows a predetermined track around the courtyard in a single concentrical movement. He thus passes by all areas until he reaches the endpoint of this journey at the roof top viewing terrace.
Tokyo Under the Magnifying Glass

glassporthole photographer Takashi Kitajima has created composite images that give the illusion of capturing a fragment of the landscape on a magnifying glass. Like the porthole in a ship, we are only allowed to see in detail a tiny fragment of the world outside.
Takashi Kitajima was born in Saitama, Japan. He found his own photography method, with continuous effort and overcoming many challenges, by emphasizing the glow of artificial light on night scenes of Tokyo. We previously featured his intriguing work here.

Barren Landscapes of the Southwest
Photographer David Clapp visited Nevada, New Mexico, Utah and Arizona to capture this series of stunning and eerie images of the barren landscapes of the south-western US. David Clapp, according to his website, is an award waiting landscape and travel photographer from England that engineered his escape from the non creative working world to pursue his passion, photography.
